Dr. Alexander Hyres
Dr. Alexander Hyres is an assistant professor in the History of US Education at the University of Utah. He was a 2022 National Academy of Education/Spencer Foundation Postdoctoral Fellow. He received an Early Career Teaching Award from the University of Utah’s College of Education in 2022 and from the University of Utah in 2024.
Dr. Hyres earned a BA in history and MIT in secondary social studies education. He is a former middle and high school social studies and English teacher. He earned a PhD in Social Foundations, with an emphasis in History of Education, from the University of Virginia.
